I am 29, so I wasn't quite a child, I did see ep. 4, 5 and 6 before the prequels, too.

I will concede that I wanted to punch kid Anakin through a wall, pre-vader anakin is nearly as bad and doesnt have the excuse of being a kid
If I had to guess I'd say they were trying to dispose of the old pool in an epic fashion. Pool showed them I guess.

I can confirm this sums up blender perfectly. Powerful but free? Sure! Just be prepared for arbitrary and logic-less interface.
