I don’t! I have a math background. Coding this game was really the start of my coding journey
lol you’re right about the expenses. Definitely not a millionaire, but made more than 12k hahaHa! I can’t say I’ve thought about the gooner route. Now I’m picturing my characters morphing into all sorts of things…
There’s no shame in taking some time off! I did for a while, like 6+ months. I actually started working on a another game before scrapping that and getting back to the first
I agree about indie games! Somehow scratched the itch better for me than a lot of AAA games
Thanks!! I’m glad you liked it!
Hey thanks! And thanks for giving it a shot!!
<3
Yeah I get it. I almost quit mine multiple times thinking no one would care. The thing that really helped me was getting the demo out on Itch.io. I got a lot of great feedback there. Honestly couldn’t have done it without all the suggestions.
Thanks!
Didn’t want to be pushy haha. It’s called Cauldron, and you can check it out on Steam or Switch!https://store.steampowered.com/app/2619650/Cauldron/
Thanks for playing!
lol the line between solo-dev and small indie studio is pretty blurred. I’ve heard someone say “if your game wouldn’t launch if you got hit by a bus, then you’re a solo dev.” So I stick by that haha
Thanks!!
Haha I actually didn’t know about that game until I was well into making this one.
Haha I loved those Olexa videos. I still go back and rewatch them from time to time
Thanks for the well wishes! And I’m glad you had a good time!
It’s a mix of upgradable minigames and turn based combat. You basically shoot for high scores in evolving minigames and use those resources to get skill points for your party. It has auto-collect and auto-battle features as well, so it’s a little idle-ish
Thanks for playing! I was blown away when it got mentioned on Besties
Thanks! Yeah… it happens, and I don’t blame people. I’ve definitely realized how tricky it is to self promote on social media nowadays
Not sure if we should feel flattered that you think it’s AI generated haha. My friend Jared did all the character portraits in the game, and he’s a pretty talented dude. I understand that a lot of AI slop has entered the market, but I can assure you this was a passion project that took me years to make
I’m glad you’re enjoying it!!
Thank you!!
It was a blast watching him play through the game!
Haha hopefully time well spent!
Hey thanks for playing! There have only been a few major gameplay changes since launch, but I’ve done a bunch with optimizations and language localization recently!
GPU constraints were the toughest, at least for me. I had to really tighten things up, especially text drawing
Oh boy yeah it was pretty tricky
Thanks for trying it out!
