It infuriates me that there are families having to say goodbye via phone or iPad. We should not be doing this. They should not be alone.
The first night she was in hospital, I asked them to connect me to her with an IPAD and they didn’t have the technology....
I lived far from my grandma who died of COVID. I was blessed enough to be able to leave everything to go be with her. However...
And a few times after. I burst into tears and she told me she’d be fine. I knew better and made arrangement to get on a plane.
It is tough. When she called to tell me she was headed to the hospital I thought that was it. I talked to her later that night...
