But in our 50% racist, sexist, misogynist, bigoted country the road to national governing power runs through swing states. As for President, first worry about WINNING, and then ability to govern, i.e. pass actual laws. Newsom, Pritzger, and Bashear are governors with proven track records of actually winning and wielding executive power effectively. As for Newsom, listen to his interview with Ezra Klein. He is far from perfect, but is more interesting than I had thought.

But most cruising sailboats small enough to be damaged by orcas are owned by middle-class retirees or younger couples who have sold houses to live aboard. They rely on limited savings, and/or work as they go. They often don't carry insurance. The very rich don't have small sailboats, they have large powerboats. They don't skipper themselves, and don't make offshore passages where the orcas are. They're lounging in the marina.
