So I'm not in a place to judge, and I won't. But I will ask you to consider the nature of your interactions with her. I was not too different as a teenager, but my parents were overbearing and insisted on watching and judging my every action. Nothing I did or said made them see that. I'm a lot better than I was, but their influence was strong enough that even now people can find me in a room by looking for the safest, most protected spot. I hope things get better for her, and for you.

Can confirm. When I finally came out to my parents, my mom went into full Fox-News-madness and started ranting about how I'd been brainwashed. MAYBE THERE'S A REASON WHY I DIDN'T TELL YOU, MOM

To me those were less dead and more psychopathic. Just "Oh, yeah, that woman WOULD shoot her own puppy."

Look. Look. CLEARLY there is no greater danger to the US these days than trans people having guns. It could tank the economy, cause a war in Iran, alienate all our allies, make life unaffordable, or cause similar disasters. Probably would cause hurricanes in Florida and wildfires in California, too! It would simply be too dangerous to let people...exist under their chosen names. Obviously.

She's just so happy and loved! Closed eyes, cuddling the knee, enjoying the hand on belly. Bobbie is the best.

Any other time, the world might have done something. But Russia and China and such will never care, the US is fucked, and Europe is too busy dealing with the war in Ukraine and the US chaos. And nowhere else has the power and influence to stop it.

Going to second this. It seemed silly to me, too, until I fell for someone who can't deal with gluten, and I learned just how many things it's in. Not to mention just how much effort it can take to prevent contamination. Now I'm constantly looking for the "gluten-free" labels, so that I can make sure I don't accidentally poison my partner.

It's been three years since I had the comfort to come out and say the same. And I can honestly say that every step further in that direction has made me a happier and healthier person, even taking into account the cultural backlash and a few asshole medical professionals. I won't tell you what's right for you, but I can say that like so many other trans folks, I can say that my biggest regret is not transitioning earlier.

Yeah, no one dreams of factory labor. People just dream of having safe, stable, well-paying jobs with reasonable hours and requirements, that come with healthcare and a pension.

Hopefully this doesn't get removed as advertising, but Corset Story's spiral steel boning has been good for helping retain my flexibility. I find them slightly less supportive, but you can move pretty much normally in them.

Seconding this. I've got a half-dozen steel-boned corsets, and they're honestly pretty COMFORTABLE. They do push me a bit more to maintain good posture, which can be a bit of a strain if I get out of the habit, but even tightlacing doesn't make it hard to breathe.

Huh. Looks like the kind of thing I might enjoy. I'd be happy to give it a read.

Not off the top of my head, but that's the actual book cover art, not fanart.

It tastes like expired orange soda that has been allowed to eat its way through the can.

I made that same move 406 days ago. It's scary, and I still worry about how people will react, but I've gotta tell you: Every single step I've made in that direction has made me happier than I've been in years. Good luck!

Fostering is heartbreaking in the best and worst ways. Thank you for all you do for them.

If I'm reading this right, it looks like you need demonrats to do it.

Unfortunately, in a lot of areas, you CAN'T really buy a non-HOA place. At least not within two hours' drive of a city.

My go-to strategy for any political post. So many of those accounts spam 50 anti-[whatever] posts a day & nothing else. Suspicious? MAYBE!

Mostly, I just went with environmentally-themed jokes without getting REALLY weird/creepy (e.g. "filled with strange creatures").

Pretty much. Though I have to assume some people say it to their partners in response to the cliches of "Do I still look attractive"

Considering they're actively occupying parts of Ukraine, isn't that kind of a free space?

I mean, you're not wrong, but Herkimer Diamonds are just quartz crystals. It's a touristy mine-your-own thing not a big blood diamond cartel
