12 rats in a trench coat training their ratty brethren!
My sweet girl Fruit Loop ❤ This girl is such a fun rat, she is crazy hyper and playful and LOVEs to hand wrestle! But she is also super cuddly and loving, and always down for some cheek rubs. She's the best of both world and I absolutely adore her!

Creme Brulee is a chaos gremlin, she doesn't want pets, she wants chaos! That's how she destroyed 2 ipad covers, 1 cage pan, several agility props, and much more...and yesterday she raided my cat treats and ate 4 tubes of cat churros, I really have no idea how she has so much chaos in her!
Do you mean me scuffling with Fruit Loop? If so then that's actually how rats play - and Fruit Loop is INCREDIBLY playful and always wants to hand wrestle, so she was hoping I'd move on to playing with her at that point! But also rats are pretty much the least likely animals to bite, they are extremely social animals and so naturally have high bite inhibition. Its one of the reason they are considered some of the best small pets if you have kids, because they are very tolerant and gentle animals
Poor Feta - she's such a sweet girl who always respects the other rats and here come the babies convinced they have to be a part of absolutely everything! Dang it Fruit Loop, let Feta have some cuddle time in peace! :P
She was grooming me! Basically very gentle nibbles, its one of the ways rats bond with their group and show their love <3 Soup is a very lovey rat, she is always grooming me and her cagemates and its super sweet!
She's just VERY food motivated lol - the dwarfs like Jellybean are the ones who tend to boss everyone around, but when it comes to food all the rats are happy to show their love of it lol
Rats are pretty predatory to smaller animals (or even animals about their size - you can find videos of rats taking down pigeons for example), so unfortunantly they usually will kill mice. Interestingly dwarf rats, who are about the size of show mice, are not targeted by standard size rats (who are often 3-5x larger, sometimes more) - they very much know what other rats are regardless of size, but they don't do well with non-rat smaller animals.
Cheese doing her part to showcase why fallbreakers are so important in a rat cage :P Poor girl was just resting peacefully on the edge of the placemat hammock, when suddenly she tried to readjust her position, toppling her balance and causing her to fall over the edge! And in her sleepiness she couldn't catch herself right away, so its a good thing there were so many thing to break her fall!
This was my younger girls first event and they did amazing - they all enjoyed lots of treats, pets, and made lots of new friends! So many people walked away saying they wanted rats (don't worry, I made sure everyone knew they had to live in same sex pairs or more!), and some of the people remembered us from past years and past events which was awesome. Anyways it was such. fun event and I am so glad we got to go again - great job girls!
Technically yes, but its more for their safety whenever I take them on outings. Since rats are prey animals if they get spooked they are much more likely to bolt than other animals, so this gives me an extra layer of protection against that. But in 12 years with rats and many times taking them on outings, I have never once had one spook or bolt - still, I'd rather be safe than sorry and so I always use the harness whenever they are on outings and not in their carrier!
She really is! She and all my current girls from her breeder are some of the friendliest and most "puppy-like" rats I've had - I am so impressed with this breeder, I have had many friendly rats over the years but never have I had every single rat be so confident and people obsessed! And Pinto is a great example of that, she is just perfect in every way <3
Pinto is a harley mix, likely harley/rex - harley is the long furred variety of rats, it causes long fur but no guard hairs so its a very thin coat. Rex also tends to lack guard hairs and also tend to molt in patches, and when combined with harley it can make a pretty weird coat expression! But its nothing to worry about, just genetics at work and doesn't impact her in any way
Pinto is naturally a very chill rat! Like any young rat she has her moments of craziness and zoomies, but she is typically quite calm and is happy to hang out on my lap much of the time (outside of training, which she loves, and her daily pea-fishing, which she would never give up lol).
Oh yes, she is a very happy girl! Crumb loves pets or any attention, she is one of the sweetest rats I've met <3
We have some family friends visiting and the kid is very excited about feeding the rats yogurt, and gets it a bit all over them lol. But the rats don't mind and they both enjoy it, so why stop it?

Its all food-safe PLA, not to worry its a print shop that focuses a lot on pets (and uses them for their own rats!) I have used 3d printed ledges/items with my rats for years now as well (in fact I like them so much that I keep ordering more as the cage gets larger lol), so I know how they do with them and how to clean them (a lot of my rat training props are also 3d printed).
Bad angle but look how cute Pinto is! She likes to nap al over me, often sweetly curled into a ball 🥺 Like any young rat she also has her moments of activity, bouncing around and play-fighting the other girls, and enjoying some hand-wrestling at the start of free-range. But after she gets her beans out she becomes soooo snuggly, and will come over and nap on me
All my rats are named after foods, so the food rat calendar is a compilation of each rat posing with their food namesake
I got attacked by a kennel! No seriously lol, I work at an animal shelter and our small dog room kennels are a bit worn down on the outside and sometimes manage to scratch you when cleaning :( Better sharp on the outside than on the inside but it still sucks ugh
No, I never get bit - domestic rats are the least likely animals to bite you, because they are ultra-social and so have some of the best bite inhibition of any animal. Mine go to public events on harnesses and meet tons of strangers including kids - over 12 years and well over 100 rats I've never had any bites or even nips occur!

Sweet little Chicken Soup 🥺 She loves to groom fingers and is so gentle about it, I adore this sweet girl! Also Cheerio trying to copy her and miss un-named trying to escape, you can really see their distinct personalities ❤️
She's one of the original girls I knew I was going to get - she's an odd-eyed girl and in person has a bright red eye and dark maroon eye, and she is THE most energetic and confident rat imaginable!
A group of rats is called a Mischief! Very fitting because rats are some of the most mischievous little animals lol, they get into EVERYTHING!
She's going to be a HUGE rat! She's about 3 months so still tons of growing to do!
