My vision in my left eye was never there, no no real loss. Right eye is stable - mostly down to the encirclement. I got discharged from Moorfields ( eye hospital) in my late 40s with a - no need to come every year, you’ll notice things before we would - message. I still go and have them check pressure etc every couple of years. And the early onset cataract was probably a good thing .. at least I won’t need to do that again. Driving is no great loss, but can be limiting.
ROP (27 weeks) - 2lbs in 1967, blind left eye (now a prosthetic), right eye retinal detachment age 13, (cryo to fix), right eye encircled ( an elastic band to hold everything in place), early onset cataract (at 35). Biggest issue is not being able to drive. Good luck with your ROP and progress.
I aspire to be all those things, and paid for them. Where do I sign ?
