There is one way to make it go away...
It is what we've said about the atrocities in our past, yes. Revisionists do their damnedest to remove it and make us forget, but they're never 100% effective. The issue is that humans forget over time unless reminded. Terrible people that want power, or people who WANT to take power, slowly erode the truth and sentiment of the past to make humans complacent so that they can gain power.
