What are they practicing?
They were trying to explain to him that having the seatbelt on when they walked up doesn't prove he had it on earlier, but I don't think that was holding them up from writing him the ticket. Considering their inflammatory attempts at deescalating a clearly unhinged individual, they probably felt that was going to change something about the situation if he understood their side of things.

Are you familiar with Michael Fairbrother's staggered nutrient additions trick to reduce the aging time required to get that nice mature flavor?

Also, they always sound louder to you than they do to everyone else.
Be friendly with the flight attendants when you get on and let them know this is the first time your kids are traveling. Explaining that nothing can be done to quiet a crying child is already part of their job, but the heads up likely helps and they'll intervene on your behalf with anybody who has emotional control issues about your kids.
A quick search shows me posts from, like, 2004. Did he give up and stop updating the internet about it?
