In a way I feel it even into my adulthood. We only had each other from whenever you entered the program 1st grade earliest to 8th.
2/2 curriculum. We only shared recess which meant having them look at us weird and only merged the different gifted kids later on 5th grade+
It would have been better if it was integrated but they pulled the whole "these kids are smarter so they'll be in a completely different 1/2
They placed students like us into a "gifted program" where in turn we ended up isolated but able to do amazing things.
