I originally took this username because of that stupid joke. Now I've grown attached to it even though the time has long passed. If someone gets this to the front page, I'll be really fuckin' salty because it's stupid and nothing I post ever makes it there.
Not worth the effort, they’ll just die with hard-ons. Their only true weakness is seeing outgroup people succeed or be happy. Shoot a repugnantcunt and you just get a martyr. Lift up an immigrant, queer person, woman or someone with a disability and it’s like hot coals being dumped on their heads.
I’m pretty sure that’s literally the opposite of the way games work it’s just that conservatives are generally criminals so they don’t live vicariously through the characters, they just relive last Tuesday in a different outfit.
That’s my question too…
The sad thing is that he’s inadvertently right. The rate of all diagnoses, including autism, is likely to drop precipitously as the entire medical establishment is being dismantled and perverted by the GoP’s insidious policies. He said it himself, if you stop testing you stop getting positive results.
She’s also pretty anti-Semitic so it’s just a weird confluence of factors where her brand of crazy happens to go against the mainstream political position on BOTH sides because AIPAC runs both sides. She’s one of the few people with 0 AIPAC contributions. Make no mistake, she’s still a bigoted shitbag. She’s just not beholden to Israel so she can let loose in ways her cohorts are avoiding.
They slap the lube right out of his hand and chant, “go in dry daddy!” They cannot be satisfied unless a prolapse is in the forecast. Crazy that so many anti-gay bigots are hungry-hole power bottoms.
Seriously, am I just not being ruthless and selfish enough? I was just trying to go through life with empathy and reason but I think I need to start kicking more puppies or contributing to systemic social disorder because I don’t have a great retirement fund set up.
There is no “vinyl vs. FLAC” there’s “vinyl vs. digital” which was my point. FLAC is just one of many nearly-identical digital formats so throwing the file extension around makes you just as cringy as people obsessed with the alleged superiority of vinyl records. Regardless, the point is simply that digital data is 1s and 0s and requires interpretation whereas analog is consumable with fewer external requirements. It didn’t really even require debate, no one’s shitting on your world view.
It took no effort to stumble upon your comment, it’s in the same thread. And I don’t even collect vinyl… and I never said ANYTHING about the quality of vinyl. It’s very limited, being an analog format, definitely inferior to digital overall. The only one raging here is you; did a vinyl record come to life and rape your entire family to death or something? Take a chill pill.
Oh I see now, you’re just shitting on vinyl in general with the same copy/pasted comment. Look, nobody loves taking down hipster record snobs a peg more than me, but being a FLAC-head is not better. Anyone who thinks they can tell the difference between Red Book and a 24-bit FLAC file is just as much of a moron. Vinyl records are not superior to digital formats but they’re not bad investments, some people just enjoy the experience (and the large artwork).
Yeah I mentioned audio formats specifically. For all practical purposes they’re future-proof. They ARE digital so you do technically need some type of hardware and software environment for them but it’s not tied to a specific piece of hardware or OS so it’s unlikely you’d ever run into issues in our lifetime. Vinyl is just purely analog so technically it has fewer dependencies, the data works even without electricity. Did you read my whole comment or just quickly reply after 1 sentence?
Not a bad investment. Technically vinyl and books are the only truly future-proof mediums since they’re truly 100% analog—you can hear a vinyl through a safety pin, if you didn’t know. Video and audio are future-proof for practical purposes because, despite being digital, the means of interpreting the data are ubiquitous. Games and software: we’re honestly fucked with no realistic recourse. Owning a game disc guarantees nothing long term.
Imagine being able to do something like this and still sleep at night or look at yourself in a mirror without having the absolutely irresistible urge to eat an entire clip while launching yourself off a bridge. I wouldn’t even be able to carry this out against the worst dregs of Republicans because I am an actual human with at least some tiny iota of empathy for other humans. A psychologist needs to explain this to me b/c I’m incredulous.
The one thing you still have to worry about is poisoned rodents and birds of prey. Big cats might be fine vs. birds but if your neighbors use rat poison it really wrecks the local environment and affects any predator animals badly. My cat has a catio made of mosquito netting so he does get fresh air but in a very controlled way.
This is horrible and infuriating and it’s why I am constantly preaching to anyone who will listen not to let cats outside. I go through this with my family yearly—they are rural people who insist that the cats are happier outside. Maybe, but between coyotes, birds, poisoned rodents and irresponsible or just plain sick humans, we just don’t live in a world that’s safe for domesticated mammals to be free roaming. It’s sad and I hate it.
That’s not even as shocking as economics being bluer than engineering. I work at a university and that feels 100% bullshitty. Predictably, the closer the concentration is tied to money, the more conservative the faculty. Science and Art have the opposite effect. I doubt this graphic is accurate or the study itself is a big bias bomb.
For me it was velociraptors because I was mega into Jurassic Park. I read some people can’t picture things in their mind and it made me so sad, I literally cannot imagine what life would be if I couldn’t see things that aren’t really there.
Yeah she is a good actor… is that a surprise to people? Republicans act like they have backbone, act like they’re not criminals, act like they’re not destroying the world… honestly it’s amazing Hollywood isn’t known as the conservatism capital of the world. It is pretty depressing though, to see people with talent have personalities made of literal shit.
He shits himself because he’s actually a shambling corpse constantly off-gassing and the people around him keep interpreting his putrescent squeals as human language. Futurama did a whole episode about it.
Remember when Brandy played Cinderella, who marries a Filipino prince with black and white parents and Whitney Houston was the fairy godmother, in 1997? And virtually no heads exploded? There were detractors but maybe the internet was just too underdeveloped for the type of ideological amplification we have today.
It just depends on what it is. I like specific artists with specific sounds. Dolly Parton? Love her, huge fan. Toby Keith? Hated literally every song he made, felt absolutely nothing upon hearing of his death. I would never blindly support a genre and it would take a LOT to make me discount an entire genre. It’s about the individual artist, always.
Why can’t people understand that your safety and security cannot be determined by a stranger’s genitalia? The entire TERF movement is predicated on the idea that women are inferior beings who have to be proactively defended because men being rapists and sexual predators is so intrinsic to simply having a penis that it should be normalized and accepted as an inevitable reality. It is literally an anti-feminist movement parading as it he opposite.
1996-2016 was the golden age of porn. We got unstoppable ads, paywalls, expensive subscription websites and outright bans and ID verification in some places. 2026 is better than 1986 but sure as shit not the “golden” age anymore. Id say the death of Tumblr porn heralded the end of the golden era and a lot of bad shit followed.
Only the ones with offices on the second level or higher. Otherwise they just come back like roaches.
That’s not entirely true for software and games. The media usually only has value if someone can actually use it. How valuable is an SNES cart to a non-collector? Anyone might love the game but who has a working SNES? Extend that to Switch games. Nintendo can brick any existing game with an OS update and shrink your buyers market to only people who haven’t updated—then pressure them by making all future games require an update. Now finding an interested buyer isn’t worth the effort.
Yeah but we needed those laws 20-30 years ago. What’s kept music and movies safe is that the environments for experiencing the content have hardly changed at all whereas software and games are constantly changing thanks to a competitive market with many different platforms and constant hardware refreshes—even the physical games you think you own aren’t really yours; all it takes is one update (and you can’t stay offline forever).
At some point? You ever bought a book that came with an EULA? We have only been buying plastic media with 1s and 0s with a LICENSE to access software for over 30 years at this point. You can absolutely own an SD card with data on it. You’ve never really “absolutely owned” a game or piece of software—it’s the biggest fucking lie in capitalism that we’ve been fed for decades. The chickens are just coming home to roost finally.
100 years from now people will be like “Heather? wtf kind of old-ass grandma name is that?” And 150 years from now they will be like “Blue Ivy TikTok? What are you 102?!” We’ll probably all be dead thanks to climate change beyond that and the surviving android hybrids probably won’t have hang-ups about out-of-fashion names; they’ll just judge each other’s bar codes and ostracize the beings with inefficient checksums.
Anyone with just an ounce of human decency will spit on his grave. Assuming they can tolerate the stench of piss and shit accumulated by everyone else.
The thing about the US legal system is that the “enforcers” can literally drag you in for no reason and even if they’re 100% wrong and you ultimately “win” it can ruin you financially, emotionally or even physically. The court system itself is so disruptive and offers so little recourse that even a clerical error can become an existential crisis.
