But: Otto Lilienthal made the first controlled, repeated, and successful manned glider flights starting in 1891.

IMHO it’s more comparable to his flight.

Thank you! The touch down was way to smooth for an autogiro-landing imho. But I’m not a chopper pilot - what do y’all think?

Yeah the iranian story makes me so sad. It’s like you would travel back in time about 800 years. But keep your nukes.

So 3 tea spoons are ONE WHOLE 16th cup.

Aaaall right…

For me it’s like saying that an eighth of something is 25% of 50% - true but of no help.

On the other side, I’m not into baking.

How do you know what’s the truth?

First, throw away all books and forget about everything.

Then wait what kind of knowledge will come back exactly the same way over time.

Guess what it will be…

And also: you even don’t have to do all of this - since there is proof - it’s called science! Maybe get educated.

Scientists created the story to drive sales for the Jurassic park franchise.

Earnings are divided among all involved scientists.

But it’s kept hidden, which is easy since only around 500.000 people are involved worldwide.

Just like the moon landing.

Well - we human aren’t very good as calculating risks.

Smoking cigarettes? Nah, cancer won’t get me.

Playing the lottery? I’ll win for sure!

Going faster than allowed? My driving skills are above average.

Humans are not good at estimating risks and dealing with great numbers. And media doesn’t help with that.

Don’t get me wrong - but perhaps for people “just standing” on the street; Would this event be “really” super super / devastatingly bad?

I mean you get burnings for sure and it would get bad if your clothes catch fire, but if not and since there is no shockwave… the fuel itself burns away really quick. The initial heat exposure shouldn’t be deadly - it’s maybe like a worse kind of jumping through a campfire?

Maybe I’m wrong, but it would be very interesting to get this explained by an expert.
