Once mine are positioned properly I don't feel them at all. Unless they get dry as the do after reading for long periods of time or at night

Taking a photo doesn't cause my foot to come off the brake. Taking a photo while stopped isn't an extra. It's an extra if done in motion.
I think it is perfectly fine to take a photo at a stop light. What else should you be doing other than waiting for the light to change?

I doubt imitation is the end all of an artists aspirations. Most copy successful artists until their own style emerges. It's very common.
