I came here for the memes, stayed for political discourse. It’s our responsibility to create the world where we want to live, and the fight may never end. Diversify your life. Fight fascism in any form. Never stop learning. [Also if you stalk my page you’ll find that I also like beautiful women. Sue me]

I like the better explanation that it has to do with the Force increasing the Jedi's luck factor by 1000x. I agree about the accurate stormtroopers, but the idea that they were under orders not to kill the only beings in the galaxy who can foil their takeover is just ridiculous, especially after how hard they were depicted in Andor and Rogue One. Note, the Jedi are not conscious of this subtle manipulation, and it can only work so well, but it is a better canon explanation of plot armor.

On the plus side, I think the low we've sunk to having put this guy in TWICE has led to much of Amerca engaging in the necessary self reflection to see where we were wrong as a country. The dialogue of America's shortcomings has never been so mainstream as it is now precisely because of the events of the past decade

The kid fell in the pool while you were making your sandwich and drowned. I think it's a reference to that one influencer couple who had that happen to them.

From an American perspective, this guy might be a hateful ignorant bigot, but he is at least somewhat coherent, which is still better than most magats we have here. I mean try talking to one, and you literally can't keep them on one topic per sentence. Some can't even speak in complete sentences.

This is something I imagine straight out of smiling friends

I agree completely, it's the factory farming that's the crime. I was merely making the observation because usually a post that shows any meat processing would have a cabal of vegans protesting it, and that's just in mainstream social media. Imgur, being more left-oriented than most sites, I just figured would have a larger percentage of vegans that would downvote this into oblivion.

I agree but *vague gesture* do you really think "should be allowed to" holds any water in American politics anymore?

The reason, of course being a combination of cowardice and convenience. Nobody is pissed off enough to do something to radically alter their sheltered lifestyle, and those who are, or who don't have that sheltered lifestyle, either don't have the means or the support to attempt radical tactics. Anyone who really wants to do something is talked down by the pacifist community, "violence isn't the answer", "you're just giving them an excuse." It's been this way for a long time and will continue.

Weird, I figured imgur would have more vegans shouting in the comments...

I thought it was the "leap second." Essentially that timekeeping isn't perfectly in sync with the gravity of the heavenly bodies, and even with a leap year every 4, it still doesn't perfectly correct the discrepancy. Now with all electronics synced through satellite-borne atomic clocks, there must occasionally be an additional second added to a specific day so that our time remains in sync with our earths rotation.

Say this does happen, though. The probability of you being able to move your hand back out of the wall without damaging either is doubly improbable. So now, you're just glitched into a wall until a bewildered fireman gets you out.

Which is completely fine if you ask me. It takes a very specific type of person to affect change by themselves, and it's not a healthy type, not one who should be glorified or loved. However unless we all want to sit around and wait for that "V"- type to come around and save us, then it will take the unification of a whole People to do what needs to be done. There will need to be more brave leaders and less of these pearl-clutchers who are too afraid to get dirt on their hands.

I think the problem isn't so much the definition as the connotation. Most audiences would hear the word "insurgent" and think "terrorist"

I prefer my ginger as beer, along with Jameson, a squeeze of lime, maybe a mint sprig. But obviously keep her cold.

It's because "No Kings" has always been intent on staying within the law in a society that is hellbent on criminalizing any dissent. Revolution was never their goal. As such, it was doomed to this fate. The most successful protests/revolts in history (in terms of achieving their goals) have been spontaneous and not strictly legal. The system works for the big man. Violence and arrests will likely break out. Media will be in a frenzy. Pearl-clutching Democrats will condemn it. But this is the way
