No problem! OR/AS are just updated to be set in Gen 6 instead of Gen 3. Gold was Gen 2 so, you'll just need to get used to the new features.
R/S/E is right after G/S/C, and OR/AS are remakes of R/S/E with a new post-game story and of course all the new mons/events. So no worries.
Kek is a very old WoW thing. Kids/9Gaggers didn't invent that. They did ruin it though. TMYK.

You can either play all the games in order (costly, really.) or just pick up the latest release- that being Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire.

I think cuz Nintendo wanted to make the base game fun for kids. The online scene is where all the serious competition is, really.
I played red/blue/yellow, yeah all 3, as a little kid, haha. I was referring to R/S/E as the original games OR/AS are remade from. :)

By originals I was referring to the games they were re-made from. But yeah Red/Blue/Green were the first pokemon games.
OR/AS refers to the newest pokemon games, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. R/S/E refers to the originals, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.
