even if white people are in country of predominantly POC, there still exists some level of white privilege/being seen positively due to being white because of colorism and white supremacy being spread through imperialism which destroyed local economies. When white people go to predominately POC countries, it often becomes a question of gentrification and in turn locals say things in frustration that other white people on the internet love to misconstrue as racism.

In the US most references to Japanese people are to Pearl Harbor, concentration camps, and the atomic bombs. The last two a very significant because they impacted US citizens and the almost genocidal nature of the event, respectively. It is usually a discussion on US imperialistic, racist powers.
