OP, I live in Arkansas. If you’re near Little Rock my wife and I would love to get dinner with you. You matter. Your feelings matter. There’s no need to go this alone. Yeah we live in a right-wing, nut-job state and that can suck sometimes. But there are people who will accept and embrace you as you are. There’s a saying for people like me (bipolar) “you are greater than your ups and downs”. You’re perfect the way you are, don’t let anyone treat you like less than perfect. Stay strong OP.
