No. I wouldn't have liked if OP replaced images with cats, with award winning cookie recipes, or anything else. Tricking readers isn't cool.
I didn't specify why people hated them, I just said it's behavior similar to what OP is doing that makes people hate bronies.

The spam links get edited in after the image makes it to the front page. It's also hard to argue against since the content isn't always bad.
The spambot/person copied the image and title from somewhere. I've seen it on reddit without the affiliate link.
The OP added his/her amazon affiliate link so if you click that link (even if you don't buy the book) he/she makes money
