I'd rule that it couldn't work as intended because of conservation of energy. Kinetic energy = 1/2 m * v^2. As the mass of the projectile returns to normal, the velocity drops drastically, so the cannon ball just plops it off the end of the muzzle
Ok, but Celsius is an arbitrary scale as well. The freezing and boiling point of a specifically substance at a specific pressure. There's nothing inherently more universal about it

It's the opposite, actually. Sprayers that cover large surface areas like that are super wasteful, sometimes losing more than half the paint volume to overspray
