Interesting.. that's the same as my guess, but the Swedish name for it is, translated, "arrow finch", not sparrow, whereas other sparrows are.. Well.. sparrows.

Or maybe judging from the beak only number one is?
(Genuinely curious here)

I was unclear - the second chord is the major 7. High C - cegC<-e - is open - cegbe - Cmaj7.

It looks like the high C is diminished, B, which makes it a Cmaj7. I would believe the third one is simply a Cmaj7 with C# base notewise, but can also be Em6 or (use all the notes!!) C#m7b5

I may have misinterpreted your "based on.." as "doesn't deviate from" - and for that I blame myself and not being native English speaker. You give more than one good example yourself, as does blues person above. I often use harmonic scales, diminished scales, or even chromatic when I play, and they deviate quite far from this pattern. I sincerely didn't mean to complain, this is a brilliant guide, I just mean that we often do like to deviate from the norms🙂

Mostly true, but not really... "All of western music is based on this pattern. All of the crazy modes people play are simply where you place the root note on the WWHWWWH pattern." There's _a lot_ of western music which doesn't do this, especially classic, rock, and progressive.. lower one or more, add some extras.. even the classical blues adds notes outside of this pattern.

False. We know from the pet shop boys that West End has girls. This photo has boys and as such this must be the east end.
