Middle school teacher here. Can confirm. I teach 6th grade and none of my 80 students are operating above 2nd grade in math, reading, or writing. Most of the cannot identify their own city on a map (that is labeled). They can't point to their state on a map or locate any other states. They don't remember anything we did yesterday, even with their notes.

Former CPS worker here, given the child agreed to do this, there is a high likelihood that the parent threatened a beating if he didn't smash his PS5. The kid decided destroying his console was safer than being beaten. We saw this behavior all the time. The kid abuses animal because he is being abused. The child should be removed and parent investigated.
