An ancestor of mine died in a foundry accident in St. Louis in 1906. He was only 18. Everybody thought the company was so amazing because they paid out the rest the week's wages. I inherited his toolbox and recently had it restored. It still has his name on it.
The traffic jam was so bad they just gave up and walked away. Vandals and looters stole the highway for scrap and nature quickly reclaimed the area. Genetic mutations and background radiation are down almost to pre-Trinity levels.

I'm curious - do you have a doctor or family pediatrician? Did they give you any one-on-one advice regarding vaccination? They usually know what's best for your family since they know your particular health situation or that of your kids.
Don't listen to anyone who just says you're dumb or sends links to medical studies. Ask your personal doctor what they recommend. They know you and your kids and community. Ask what they personally recommend for your family.
I read an article about a study done recently that found the only thing likely to convince anti-vaxxers is their personal physician. Scientific studies and appeals by family and friends have little effect, and information from organizations like CDC and NIH have the opposite effect: they increase resistance to vaccines. So if you want to sway a loved one, don't send them links or tell them they're stupid. Tell them to trust their pediatrician. It worked with my daughter-in-law.
Yes, that's an important point. The GOP leadership since Reagan has been using the religious right and culture wars to advance their core agenda of tax cuts. Some portion of their voters are primarily motivated by money and aren't bigots or culture warriors. But that number is probably shrinking.
Generally speaking they're a much nicer lot than the evangelicals. In my personal experience the Mormons I've know have all been kind and genuine.
