They kinda had that too with cool water circulating in interior walls, in very wealthy villas, and they potentially conquered a few places with existing badgirs from some previously Persian cities

These poor guys are getting really fucked up by invasive ants. And with so many less of them cleaning up the leaf litter on the ground, the ground is getting a mat of leaf accumulation like most other rainforests, which would be normal, but the native plants and trees evolved for millions of years with an almost completely bare forest floor and get their nutrients from the crab “processed” leafs, from them popping in their burrows, rather than a slow reabsorption process waiting on decomposition

My car got totaled and getting stuff out of it at the tow lot, everyone there was such ass holes for no reason. My deceased dog’s license fell off the keys handing them over and no one helped me look for like 10 minutes. One of the guys purposely dickishly asked me what I was looking so hard for and after I said it was my dead dogs license tag like 6 people all got down and helped me look until we found it. Even when people are dicks dogs can bring them back down to earth

#3 my parents house had 3 gigantic oak trees on the city tree lawn on a corner lot. One was so infested with aphids after a few years we wouldn’t park on that side in the summer because there was so much aphid poop (honeydew) it looked like someone aerosol sprayed maple syrup over your car every night. The first and only package stolen from that house was two boxes of 40,000 ladybugs each. I really hope they took hold in that assholes house

Math is obviously blue because that’s how it is. Science is ridiculously green because biology includes plants, chemistry makes bubbling green and the emoji that pops up when you type🧪is green, and physics and glowing green nuclear waste goes hand in hand. History is red because history is filled with blood and Rome is history and is red and England is also red as fuck and kind of ruined everyone’s history (greeks are blue for sure). English is yellow or anything else. I wont be taking questions

Large companies have tons of them. Merrill lynch has over 1,000. Smaller companies might still have 5 or so no problem

Watched an Interview years ago and they were talking about the first wave of mechanized infantry would be rolled out in 2030 or something. Immediately paused the interview and looked up the “infantry” expecting humanoid bots and it was literally just like full sized APCs, tanks, other gun platforms and then some smaller ones like this. I felt like an idiot because fucking obviously you can just make a small tracked remote control gun, or just make a literal full sized remote controlled tank

Yes! I met a falconer, and she had to rappel down a cliff to get one of her birds

Fun story; I’m from Massachusetts and immediately after moving to LA, I was driving my girlfriend to work and I saw a hawk on a parking garage trying to take off but clearly was tangled. I dropped my gf at the entrance and sped up 6 levels to the roof, stopped my car in the middle of the lane and ran to the hawk and a girl dressed like steve erwin ran out of her car like WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU RUNNING TOWARDS MY HAWK. And i found out they use hawks when doing excavation to terrify rats back under

A woman pitched in the mlb against the New York Yankees and struck out Lou Gerig and babe Ruth, I think there was another lady that played

I believe your first sentence is exactly what they think so far, pods span multiple generations, are wildly intelligent, social, and actively communicate and teach. So could be similar to primitive people migrating from somewhere with smaller mammals as prey and seeing an elephant and having no idea what to do with that thing. Or vice versa and suddenly having to “dig” out your prey. (Obviously dumb as shit example sorry)

They’ll eat elephant seals so it’s definitely not the bones

They’re also weird eaters, some pods of orcas will pretty much only eat one thing. One pod will almost exclusively eat sharks, another salmon, another seals, and even if the seal eating pod is starving and has sharks near by, sometimes they’ll just starve. That potentially does mean if a pod starts eating humans, there probably going to be a pretty strong movement from some areas to eliminate that pod

Saw a rattle snake that had just got run over leaving a hiking trail in LA, told the two parks department guys in the truck that was in view and before I could finish telling them the dude was out of the car and like sprinting up the road. The snake didn’t make it and the guy was devastated but it was good to know that some of the people taking care of the trail really care

Did construction surveying for more than a decade, came close to getting hit by machines twice, I had an instrument run over (surrounded by more cones and flagging than anything else on site), and had a coworker lose a prism and tripod. All four incidents were with the mini bobcats. There’s probably more dangerous machines, but sometimes dudes fucking fly around in those

My campus had a commuter rail split the campus in two, sophomore year they raised the price of parking from 750$ to 1,200$ to park on campus per year (a sticker). People parked in the public commuter lots on either side of the rail, around 100$ a month, or else a parking ticket of 10$ a day. most people were only parking there one to three times a week almost everyone just payed the parking tickets aside from the first and last months. You wouldn’t get one 20% of the time. Lasted for two years!

This is reminding me of my grandfathers basement. His father ran a newspaper and every wall of the entire room was printers’ galleys filled with various print letters, printing gears and equipment and random nicknaks. Everyone in my family keeps a galley in our house because of that filled with random things. This whole room is a galley, I love it

I always said, pretty much every CW superhero show would have 80% less plot if the super team just met once a week and said “alright guys secret dump time. Nobody cares that your dad’s secretly a villan, we already have 4 examples of that on our team. No one cares you had that bad year in your past. We already went through that with two other team members and no one cared.”

Most plots in the shows could be solved almost instantly or just not happen if they just told each other shit

His first few years I didn’t like him, (he was on a rivals team) then he did a video where he dressed up like a mascot and interviewed people outside the stadium asking who was the better corner, him or Derrell revis. If they said him, he was like seriously? That bum? That guy sucks! Revis is way better. He’d make them agree then take off the mask.
He had a reputation for being arrogant early on, but he was really just an awesome dude.
