There is a technique where you park your ship in an area that is extremely difficult to get hit, then wait for a while. A bug in the game eventually causes the enemy bomb slots to fill up and from then on, they can't drop bombs anymore. You can then continue the game and just worry about avoiding the diving ships.

And dragonflies, damselflies, honeybees, bumblebees, ladybugs, praying mantises, walkingsticks, moths, butterflies. Birds, too. I haven't seen any goldfinches, scissor-tail flycatchers, cedar waxwings, dark-eyed juncos, purple martins, or red-winged blackbirds in years, and only a few robins, cardinals, blue jays, bluebirds, or buntings. And "road kill" species like armadillos, turtles, possums, raccoons, skunks, and squirrels... It makes my stomach knot up just thinking about what we've lost.
