It's not "ironic" in the sense that it isn't using words to express something other than their literal intention. There are other types.
These are actually arguing against letting women vote. They're saying if women get the vote they won't let men vote.

I mean that's fine, personal opinion. I think GB2 is pretty much okay.
Like, on the other end of the spectrum look at Oldboy. One was a remake that was awesome, one was a remake that absolutely awful.
Yeah, it's not one of the best movies ever made in its genre. It's good, I was quite entertained. Better than GB2, worse than GB1.
Reboots have always been a thing. It is not even a little new. The movie's good.
