Yep. Spent two weeks without my family in the house. Just me and my cat. The noises I heard were annoying at best, spooky at worst.
There are literally games designed around this concept, if you can't find a job doing it. Shelves and Sorcery apparently is one that my friends have been playing.

Being above the surface of the ocean. I'm fine if I'm on land, but if you put me on a boat on the ocean, I'll freak out. What makes it weird is that I'm also fine if I am UNDER the surface of the ocean. It's only above the surface that bothers me.

We trim our cats nails. Front ones, anyways. We leave the hind ones alone. I forget the reason why. I think it has to do with climbing, should the cats ever get loose outside.

It took a study to figure this out? Observing cats doing this is enough to know that sometimes it's just mutual grooming, while other times it's just one cat being a jerk to the other. I had a pair of cats where the latter was always the case. One of them did it just to annoy the other. I miss them.
WiFi is finicky on Linux. Hardware support-wise, it's much, MUCH better now than it was say, a decade or two ago. Software-wise, it needs work. Roaming is effectively broken, as far as I am concerned, so using multiple APs or a mesh network is unreliable at best.
Playfighting or determining who the boss is around the house. Actual fighting is much more violent. Intense staredowns with growling. Yowling and screeching. Fur flying everywhere. It's quite vicious.

I read/watch the news, but I limit my intake to like, 30 minutes a day. The rest of the day is spent coding, gaming, or cuddling a cat.
I can see that. Cycling the colours would require processing time to send commands to the LED controllers, and potentially wait for responses from the controllers.
RGB lighting is a pain in the ass. Both in terms of how it looks, and in terms of disabling it. Multiple proprietary applications required, assuming the lighting can even be turned off.
I set up an appointment to discuss whether or not I might have this. My sister bonks and slams the walls, doors and drawers quite loudly, and it makes me jolt every time. She does it very frequently, and it is fraying my nerves, emotional state, and mental health significantly. I love her, but I am an incredibly short distance from having an argument with her about it, and the only thing stopping me is medication.
Not too bad. Up all night tonight, so just sitting back, being quiet, and taking care of the animals. Also watching YouTube videos.

Honestly, the COVID stuff had minimal impact on me. It was more my university that stressed me. Forced me to the psych ward seven times for questioning overcharging me a significant tuition amount.
