Arrows specifically are barbed and if pulled will catch and tear tissue. Pushing it through will probably cause less damage.

From what I remember of high school physics, the kinetic energy is mv^2/2. Potential energy at the peak is mgh. Plug in the height to solve for initial velocity and divide by however long you decide the force was applied to find the acceleration.

#8 it doesn't look like that to everyone?

Could Netanyahu be overselling the credibility for political motivations like the CIA says? It would not surprise me. But they do not claim that Israel is fabricating nonexistent threats and that is an important distinction.

(I read an article on the independent with nearly the same title which I assume is some kind of repost.)

Your link is paywalled. 99% of those upvoters didn't read anything beyond the title.

No, overselling is not the same as lying. Lying would be making up a nonexistent threat. Credibility is agencies judging the likelihood of real threats being realized. 9/11 and Oct 7th both had forewarning those attacks were going to happen but were judged low credibility by their respective administrations and ignored. According to you, those warnings would be lies when hindsight shows they clearly weren't.

A functioning regulatory body would also nail their asses for retroactively changing contracts like that

Your link didn't work, but I looked it up and they accuse Israel of the same thing you're doing - overselling. They don't say it's all lies but rather overstated. In other words, there probably were threats but where the CIA ruled them out as unlikely Israel passed them on as credible. Not necessarily faked as you claim.

What do you get out of killing them that you don't get out of life in prison without parole?

3 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Other than that, I simply don't believe in vindictive vengeance. It's both cheaper and more humane to give someone life in prison without parole than to execute them. They're not a threat to society in a prison cell. We're spending more money to kill them for... what?

The most clear cut issue is sometimes they find those unrepentant people who obviously committed said heinous act... actually didn't. Even confessions can be fake due to duress or attempts at leniency when they think the trial is a lost cause. And under precedent from the 1900s that's still upheld, even if they later find evidence proving defendants didn't do it, they'll still kill them. Even if the prosecutors and victim's family intercede, they'll still kill the proven-innocent defendant.

Capital punishment is inhumane though. I also don't like my lawmakers participating in stochastic terrorism.

You skim it for the scum thick enough to get caught on the strainer and strain it for the scum that isn't thick enough to get caught.

In grad school, post docs just told me to go to libgen. In the rare case my article wasn't available there, I could fill out a library request form and a librarian would find a way to get the paper for me.

It's not like premodern days where normal people and police / armies had the same muskets.

They somehow also missed the extra white text when copy pasting. That invisible text trick is used for web crawlers. It shouldn't fool a human who has to highlight and copy paste it.

That's silly. 3* is a bad rating so 4* or 5* are the only real options for stuff you liked. It doesn't mean perfect; it just means you liked it more than that other stuff you liked.

They call non-MAGA Republicans RINOs. Republicans in name only. So it actually makes sense even if it's probably not what he meant

Usually public decency laws. In particular going to the bathroom in open areas can get you registered as a sex offender

That first term count is way too low. I remember he said he'd put it in a blind trust but instead his family kept control of his stocks for the first term
