At least this was the first post I saw when I opened my Imgur app 5 minutes ago.
Yeah I’ll concede this point. It’s a big claim. It’s still often a flop for many who try to stop. Most aren’t ready to stop. I’m a pretty cautious person when it comes to claims. I need peer reviewed data. Maybe it actually doesn’t work for some. Here though, I am the data and I’ve seen the results first hand over 23 years of going to these meetings. I tried everything to stop and only AA has worked long term. No faith needed.
Your country has a rather large religious issue. It’s probably much different in meetings there. The AA book makes sure to remove any religion. There’s no reference to Christianity or any other religion in our book except to say those specific religions are welcome. I’m an actual alcoholic and I tried all of those other modalities first. But likely I never tried properly. And actually you’re right. I’ll retract the ‘it works for 100% of those who try it properly’. It’s not in the book. I said it
This guy is a shill. He sounds smart but he’s only trying to sell a book. He says AA causes harm to 90% of people who come in. That’s idiocy. That’s actually harmful. “Lance Dodes is also the author of Breaking Addiction and The Heart of Addiction.”
Interestingly. AA actually works in 100% of cases where people use it properly. Most people see the word god and run a mile like I first did. Or they find other reasons to leave or relapse. It’s an absolutely non religious program. No faith needed. It works based on group therapy, one alcoholic helping another with guidelines. Other modalities work either because the person wasn’t an actual alcoholic, or they helped the alcoholic have a change in perspective enough to help them stay sober
As long as we keep the Magammigrants out of NNZ I’m in.
I asked some of those guys on set how much they earned. Something like 3-5x what I was earning on set. Gold
Absolutely it changes nothing. He’s always been a danger to the world. It’s safer without him. I’m just a stickler for clarity. I loathe people using quotes out of context. It means we approve of their behaviour if we copy it.
I'm not a fan of his at all. Fascism took a hit with him leaving us. But this quote is actually out of context. He was more saying he prefers the word sympathy as opposed to empathy.
Haha, I love a solid overeat. Meals like that once in a while are so satisfying. Yeah you guys get very large meals. It’s almost like we’re on diets over here. People just order two meals instead of one.
Sounds like a more sustainable option to eat local. I live the idea myself. I use fast food as a last resort myself. Or a rushed option. Lucky you guys getting all of the flavour. I was impressed with the texture and size of Popeyes
Oh my god I couldn’t stand Popeyes a second time. Is it actually good in the states? KFC in New Zealand tastes like KFC. Popeyes tastes big and juicy, but with no flavour at all.
So, realistically these guys have just seen a crime committed. They can put HIM under citizens arrest. I love this outcome

Totally. I got chased once and my mate was listening on the scanner. The controller called off the chase 3 times. We even heard the police officer behind me say he was backing off. He never backed off once. They’re big boys with toys. I got away in case you wanted to know. I was young and dumb. Now I’m older and less dumb. No more chases for me.

I’d like to disagree. Mainly because I scored very high on an IQ test. I haven’t scored very high in life so I’m now seeking redemption through social media.

Basically it’s a drawing a parallel to the fact that someone who is wealthy cares about the poor who are being harmed. In England they still have a caste system so this holds some weight. Their tuition fees is probably not a big thing all in all but it is still relevant.
Yeah I get annoyed and think the same thing when we try to romanticise the past like this. They were tough because they had to be. We’re still tough when we have to be. Every generation complains this one is weaker than the last.

Saying ‘I don’t rape people because a book told me not to’ does not make you a good person. It means you’re a sick person who needs help. You may be ‘doing’ good things but it’s only an act.
You must have read that wrong. They pointed out that if you would murder people without the book telling you not too, then you are the naughty person. A good person does not want to murder other people. Does not want to harm others without reasonable cause. Not at all. They might end a life to protect others. But murder, no.
