The only thing i feel bad about is that most of them will never actually feel the consequences of their choices. They will go through life with a "never my fault" attitude as everything quite literally crumbles to ash around them.

I'll slut-shame. It's a shame 'cause y'all could be a lot sluttier. Step it up.

Im a boring heterosexual cisgender male and i wish i could compliment people's aesthetic choices without coming off like a creep. But i understand the world we live in and bite my tongue even though the world always needs more positivity. So to everyone out there who has doubts. You look awesome in that and your hair looks great. Have a nice day.

With our current level of technology we have the means to support way more people than we have right now and do so with sustainable practices. The problem is that we don't do it because theres like 100 people who would prefer we didn't so they could make money off it instead.

Too many able-bodied people do not understand that the disabled would trade away every perceived "perk" and "benefit" of their condition to just be able to have a normal life that doesn't revolve around it.

I mean sure. I can't speak to every version of fantasy thats ever existed. But going back to the trope codifier of the modern era, tolkien, its true there. And especially before him when it was still elfs not elves. Or even moreso before that when they were just the fae and they were openly bastards.

Yes but also no? At least for me. Because the way i see it, elves are all of that. But it's a veneer. It's fake. You dig past the surface, into the history, and they're actually monsters either pretending thats not what they are. Or atoning for what they were. I think of the Pratchett quote where he says elves are terrific, they beget terror. The other part is that its totally a sex thing because im a pervert.

My local grocery store put up a huge display of these during trans visibility week. It wasn't labeled as such but I mentioned it to two of my trans coworkers and was like "do you think they know? They *have* to know right? That could not have been an accident."

The bathroom thing is already stupid as fuck. But the *custodian*? Really? I would hope that they have an all-access pass to every bathroom.

9/11 happened while i was in high school. Low income area with not a lot of prospects. Practically the entire senior class enlisted that year. In retrospect it was bizarre having that many uniformed children marching through the halls, whipped into a patriotic frenzy.

#12 When i was young my brother and i would watch kurosawa films together all the time. So when i started taking japanese in high school my teacher was like "why do you sound like an old samurai?"

When you fight a car as a pedestrian the best you can hope for is a draw, and it'll be pyrrhic for sure.

#24 when i was a young man working in retail i had a manager that i did not get along with. One time i was like hey i need you to cover my counter for a minute and he goes no thats not my job. I looked him dead in the eyes and said you're going to cover the counter or else i'm going to shit your pants. To this day i wonder how i didnt get written up for that.

That one is my favorite one. Something about the pose and the dress just gives off a "this is me, got a problem with that?" vibe that is positively amazing.

I actually worked with a dude many years ago that was a faithful mormon. It was really interesting because he was *just* critical enough of his faith that he was like yeah some of the theology is goofy, but the practical applications of the faith like keeping supplies and helping your neighbors amd community are pragmatic for surviving harsh winters and the like.

I have a seething white hot hatred that has burned since i was a child. One of the things i have learned in my life is that that rage will never abate no matter how hard i try. So i have taught myself to use that fire to bring more good in to the world. I am not a nice person. But i try to be a good person.

I tell people that i am a food radical. Eat what you like and everyone else can fuck off. Mayo and pickle sandwiches? Sure. Black olives and white fish? Go nuts. Life's too short to worry.

#49 approaching entertainment with a critical eye has massively improved my joy of media. Being able to see not just the story being told but *how* its being told gives deeper appreciation for the artistic vision. And if it does fucking suck you can be like this why it sucks and heres things that do it better.

If you are of the melanin enhanced subgroup of people, the -a spelling is often used the same way a melanin deprived would say dude or guy. The -er spelling is *always* used in a derogatory manner when used by the first group, and is a slur when used by the second.

I used those as examples that people would be familiar with, i could have also used the monty python parrot sketch. Linguistic drift as a concept was named over a century ago and has existed for as long as language has. How is it new and unique in this context? Advertising has been influencing language since the first salesman came up with a slogan. The hate here is because it feels forced rather than a natural evolution.

Look at the linguistic evolution from shell shock to ptsd. Or how retarded was a medical term with a specific meaning. Slang and euphemisms have been evolving since language has existed. I do think the sanitization to please advertisers is bullshit. But this is not a new or unique thing.
