They are not manditory. Fundraisers can cover playground equipment, books for students, school supplies, trips, technology, and more.
If this happens in a classroom, half the class will repeat that joke each louder than the kid who said it before them.
And then no one notices when you drop it
As a teacher, I hope teachers aren't doing this. It causes anxiety in students who may not be as strong in reading.
