Also quick actions in animations take only a few frames sometimes. If you were to not use blurs, it might appear choppy/jittery.
Basically a little of both. When something moves quickly in real life there appears to be blurred motion. This is done to recreate that.
He makes a new bowl of porridge every day and takes a picture of each individual bowl... Still not extraordinary but I'm impressed by him.
