That is amazingly wrong. The value of a currency is directly decided by how much of it is available. The entire function of a central bank is to maintain the value of a currency by ensuring there is always a suitable amount available.

Well... In the before times, when things where working as intended. The goal was that prices should go up by 2% yearly. The idea is that when money gradually loose value over time, then hoarding money is stupid. So rich bastards have to invest their money, which is good for everyone. Better than hoarding at least.And 2% is small enough that normal people don't have to worry about it. As long as salaries are increasing slightly faster. It's that last bit that a general strike can fix.

well, I can't disagree with that. However, I have no idea how to get people to make and buy high quality stuff and rampant inflation will only make it worse. When people feel they are getting poorer, they will buy even cheaper crap that breaks even faster.

When the strategic oil reserves start to run low, we will see the full effect of the blockade of Hormuz and then we will start seeing double digit inflation again.So unless you want to cut consumption of everything then your solution won't really do anything.

China is building renewables at an insane pace... but their fossil fuel consumption is also increasing. So it's actually a great example of what I mean. Even a dictatorship, which is the industrial powerhouse of the world and has it as a goal of national security to maximise green energy still can't build it as fast as they need it.
... That is the whole point... 25% of the worlds oil production has stopped because the Hormuz strait is closed. We have been running on the combined strategic reserves of all countries in the world these last months, and they are running out soon.
I actually think this is a necessary move. There is a limit to how fast the green transition can go. Especially with USA actively working against it, and in the mean time we will still need fossil fuels. And with the Hormuz strait closed oil prices are going to get massively fucked very soon.
