I work at an environmental engineering firm..you fail to understand how expensive clean up and on going monitoring is. Prevention? What dat?
Had to put my kitty of 19 years to sleep. Worst weekend ever.

Yes it does. We had to lightly sand a second time after stripping and cleaning because of some wood fuzzies.
Thanks! My husband was adamant about making it brown. It took some convincing otherwise.
Up close it was also awfully splotchy and uneven after one coat. The second coat made a big difference. Depends on the product I'm sure.
The stripping agent and wood cleaner pretty much took off any grime.
Wedgewood Color- Behr premium stain
Product recommends two light coats for best protection.
Internet and Home Depot, best friends for a new homeowner.
Except rice can kill the birds... but ya it's adorable.
