deceptive numbering was my first thought too; I was about to google # of data centers vs # of golf courses, but checked the comments first and saw it's made even worse by old data.
If the selling point is that it wasn't fabricated, then it loses most if not all entertainment value (for me) when it's faked. A person's reaction to being pranked is the payoff/content. Another example: giving a person charity; the pay off is seeing their joy/emotion of being helped.
