I'm Canadian. We don't have insane premiums or copay nonsense or any of that. Our taxes pay for our healthcare. If they privatize it then we would have to pay out of pocket like Americans do, and be at their whim on whatever they wanna charge.
No. Conservatives are ruining our healthcare system. Ripping it apart and privatizing it and shifting funding. Same way Tories are ruining the NHS in the UK. It was working fine until the Cons decided they wanted the same system as the US to line their pockets. They don't care about us citizens who are actively funding it with our taxes.

Not sure what you mean by for profit? The government runs the foster program here and as a foster parent you get paid a set amount, tax free, to care for the child.
100%. So many interviews, background checks, they examine your bank history, debt load, job history. How large your home is, what your home even looks like. Your and your spouses health. They'll even talk to your neighbours. A lot of these programs are run by religious people so good luck if you're atheist or dress alternatively.
