oh hey a public bio.

Theres a right wing media machine that will still spew horrific nonsense against them because they're not their candidate. Im British, a good example of this nonsense is unfortunately the royals. Kate & Megan both had lily of the valley in their wedding bouquets. One was painted as murderously irresponsible, the other classically traditional. Ill let you guess which was which. You cant imitate them & enjoy the same success because there aren't liberal lie machines of the same magnitude.

No I get it, I know people are getting something out of it. What I'm saying won't apply to everyone, but more likely for those that want to own, but can't. Especially if they're caught in a rent trap. I live in the UK, landlords can section 21 and evict a tenant without any real cause if they want. I want to be clear, I'm also not saying all landlords are bad. But that doesn't mean I feel renting should be the norm, and only those who inherit or are rich own. As with all things theres nuances.

I'm also not saying private landlords are bad. But when you make people's home a business, the nature of a business prioritises profit over people. And people quickly resent being used for profit with no gain for themselves in situations outside of their home. Now imagine you've got that situation in the place you call home, where you're supposed to feel safe and comfortable. It's grim, and landlords always seem to miss that point imo.

I mean, it's yours you don't have to sell it. But that does mean it's now a business, and that requires a certain amount of effort, and sometimes businesses make a loss and go under. But that isn't really a risk with property, because evict the Tennant / raise the rent. I'm not saying you're selfish, but be aware of how your position can make a tenant feel, especially if they want to own and can't. Because it's not theirs and you want it back eventually, yet it's supposed to be their home.

I think part of the problem is they probably never will own property if things don't change. On top of hearing landlords talking about owning the place in which they live as if it's a barely successful business due to all the effort of upkeeping their *home*, yet always kind of implying tenants should be more grateful, can leave tenants feeling like a commodity or a figure on a spreadsheet of someones passive income.

Oh we know. We've had them in charge for 14 long years. I was a young man when the lib dems made a deal with the devil. Now I'm going grey, in debt and no longer a virgin.

Express your sadness. Let them choke on the icing. It's more human and I'd imagine healthier.

Is your point all food should be free? I'm game for that, but that's not how food banks work?

I feel like you're deliberately missing the point. It's not bad we have them, it is bad we need them.

Rage inducing, isn't it? Worst part is food banks are so common now, some people actually think it's a good thing when more open.

Plenty if places in the UK are interest free now. It really doesn't make sense to buy outright imo
