yeah, always disable your screensaver and stuff sleep mode stuff. i used to burn so many cds. now this old computer didn't even have a bay for a drive! I use an external converter, but i rarely ever use it all.

cd-rw were not as reflective, so your writing drive could read and write them, but other drives might not be able to read them, like car stereos or cd-players. what gets me is that playstation cds were originally black, like the worst color for reflectivity. how did they even read those that well?
