I remember watching this youtube video a few years ago, where the guy was talking about that gatekeeping mentality is a big reason why metal pretty much disappeared from mainstream media.

My job I use to work at we had a couple spots on the wall meant for ladders for storage. They fit nicely against the wall but we also had this little latch that “hugged” the ladder. So if it was disturbed it wouldn’t fall on somebody or fall and get in the way.
