tl;dr▶︎ American in Tokyo, posting random Japanese food pics on Imgur. 〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜 I was a lurker on Imgur for almost 3 years and finally decided to make an account: for upvoting, commenting, and for posting Japanese food related pics. So yeah, nice to meet you! In retrospect I realize my username looks like "imgur u me" but it's supposed to be a combination of "imgur" and "gurume". Gurume means "gourmet" in Japanese and is used to refer to good food. Sorry :P If you are a fellow Tokyo Imgurian let me know!

I think it depends on the country/language. For example, in Japanese they only have male or female, no custom.
