Well, the thing is his crimes were already stopped, he was convicted. So his death does not really change anything now. Facing justice and paying for your sins is maybe more desired than a fast check-out from this plane of suffering.
Or he could make sure the govt taxes the likes of him. Even that 1% calculated. Then wellbeing of the society wouldn't maybe depend so much on just good will of some of the wealthy.
