The rods are fine. Mazda overengineered the bottom end on these engines. Not sure why you’re hating, it’s not your car and you’re not (1/2)

Try 15 on stock internals, 25-26 on a built head.

Miatas also have tons of potential to actually be built out. The B6ZE-RS is a resilient engine that takes tons of boost stock.
Really? I’m up to 121HP from 104 right now, still running rich as ever and with a timing advance shown. Cars healthy and quick enough.
