First past the post -- a type of voting systems prevalent in the US. Vote for 1 candidate and the one with the most votes wins. Ranked choice voting is a different system that some would like to change to.

You’d have an A from me. I don’t grade homework. The kids that want to do it, will; the ones that don’t would cheat if it was for a grade. I give keys for kids to check or just review. Homework is for practice and it’s okay if you don’t get it right at first. Why penalize someone who is learning and eventually gets it?

It’s an indoor percussion competition run by an organization called “Winter Guard International” or WGI. Think of it as marching band without the wind instruments. They can get pretty elaborate, as demonstrated here.
As a lefty, I pay attention so that my fellow lefties aren’t assigned seats at tables where they bump elbows with their classmates.
Kansas City, Missouri was incorporated as a city (1853) before the State of Kansas was admitted to the union (1861). Going back further, it was ALSO incorporated before the establishment of the Kansas Territory (1854). There are many backwards things about my state, but Kansas City being in Missouri is not one of them.
Math teachers that don’t teach the meaning behind the calculations just make it harder for later teachers. This disconnect can start very early if an elementary teacher doesn’t know math.I just hope my university brethren don’t say the same about me.
The problem with term limits is the governing body lacks of institutional memory. There's something to be said for some members of the group to remember why certain things were done a specific way. The term-limited legislators become lobbyists sooner in their career and the newly-elected rely on them more for guidance than they should. I don't know about other states, but Missouri is prime example of this.
