Not sure that is such a controversial opinion. While I loved BB, I thought BCS was a better show overall. Both had great characters, in my opinion.
Some great songs on that set list. I saw them open for the Dead nearly 40 years ago and the memory still brings a smile.
He’s one amazing performer and maybe the only one from my youth still killing it today. We’ve seen him twice in recent tours and the shows are fantastic.
Interesting details about a job life I could never imagine doing. Great view!
It was kind of wild that no one really knew what would happen. At the s/w company I was at, pretty much any employee who could possibly be needed worked overnight and just waited.

been happy with the Thinkware FA200 i’ve had a few years now. Records front and rear automatically to an on board SD card. Easy to pull video when needed.
I just went to see it and that is my number one takeaway. Three hours plus after twenty minutes of previews is a long time to be sitting - esp if you have a drink. I finally gave up and “pardon me excuse me” my way from the center to go pee. I decided to watch the rest in an empty seat much too close to the screen. I liked the movie fine, no actors stood out as either great nor terrible, and they handled the classic scenes like the cyclops well.
The ground is lava!
They also had a “fixins” bar where you added what you wanted. Lettuce, pickles, onions, etc. At least the one where I grew up did. And they were the least expensive of the big burger chains.
Austin definitely changed while we lived there but overall I still say we had a great run. But i never cottoned to the politics and that only got worse over time.
Congrats. I just visited Austin after living there for almost 30 years. Three years ago we moved to a deep blue state and i’ve never regretted it. I miss HEB tho.
It was startling the first time i saw these huge dark forms dropping down from the trees in our yard in the morning. I had no idea they could fly that high.
On another note, she has a very cool grave stone.

I’m near the end of an almost 30 year career in tech. It used to be the most fun and interesting job ever. Good, not crazy pay but lots of perks. Food, beer, lots of parties, on site massage - those are just a few. Lots of career growth as tech developed and was applied to more business areas. It’s nothing like that now. Everyone fears layoffs, jobs are offshored, everyone is over worked and under staffed. And all we hear now is AI will make up those deficiencies. It’s quite insane.
Boomer here (66 yrs old). I’ve watched in increasing horror my whole adult life degrade in the US. From my perspective it started with Reagan’s election and the rise of the Evangelicals. Add in the MBAs and within decades almost everything was worse than the 70s. I’ve tried to explain to conservatives that if they keep stripping away protections for the masses, eventually they’re going to storm your gated communities. Establish basic needs for all and people can still make billions.
Congrats, fellow old fart. We are almost to 40 years married, and I feel more lucky every year that I found her. Every single major adult decision, and many ups and downs, have been shared together. As age ravages, I mostly am at peace because I know I got really lucky.

I grew up in public schools in the 70s and needed glasses to function. They were a burden in every way you can imagine. Not just the dork vibes but trying to play any sports, for instance. I look at high school photos of me and i look like jeffrey dahmer in my aviator frames. I love the style options now and wear both contacts and glasses comfortably. It’s definitely gotten better for glasses wearers.

I was in college and they announced this band called The Cars were going to play on campus for $20. I said “F that, who the hell are the Cars” and less than a year later they’re the top band in the country. I’m not a smart man.
we were seriously considering one until we got sticker shock. 70k is just the base price, if you want anything more it can quickly creep up to nearly 90k loaded.
