No rights are given up when joining the military. The recourse is non judicial punishment. Meaning it’s not a court that decides. You keep the first, second, third, etc amendment rights. You only lose them if stripped by a court. Like the right to bear arms if convicted of a felony.

Another oopsie - the postmark. Used to be if it was in the box before final collection, it was postmarked that day. Now you have to go in to the counter AND ASK FIR THE POSTMARK otherwise it goes to a central location for postmarking. Might be sane day. Might be next week. Who knows. Go to the counter. Request immediate postmark. The only way to be sure.

If Op can afford it, wait the two weeks before starting the new job but leave the old one immediately. Vacation! The new job won’t know, so the brownie points are still banked. As for the “screwed over” liked employees at the old location, that’s a management problem. If they can’t suffer the loss of one person then no one can take vacation or sick days. If OP has unique knowledge or skills, then management really failed to do appropriate cross training.

Treat it as a malicious djinni. Put it in an isolated environment (docker container) that only has access to code that has no outside references (in git speak, no remote origins). So it’s possible that all those reptilian gains came from the spillover from the previous Democratic administrations. Yes I saw autocorrect used “reptilian” instead of “Republican”. Still accurate
