I remember being at Ft. Gordon in Georgia completing my 2nd MOS after reenlisting for another 3 years...went and got my certificate of completion from the Lt col. North and south Korean have been having on and off open dialogue for the better part of 30 years now in the end North Korea cuts it off abruptly every time...I was stationed at camp Casey in 1999 and both sided actually opened a channel through the DMZ for families to see each other and the people thought at that time that they would reunify but Kim shut it down abruptly again after about 2 weeks...FYI
