They must've reno'd the basement washroom after you moved out. It's actually a pretty nice new(ish) washroom now!

Trellis is for privacy plants between our yard the neighbour. Made sure to use cedar for the raised bed sides. :)
That's just my crappy garage that the deck is off of.
We get a ton of rain and so far it's worked perfectly to reduce our stormwater output to the city by 75% or so. Plants love it too :)
The actual rain garden portion is probably 5x6 feet. 1 foot deep. Amended soil and rain friendly plants. Plus a swale for excess. -->

There's top mulch we laid down afterwards and cardboard under the whole affair. Has been keeping weeds at bay pretty nicely.

Wow, crazy! On a related note, I'd like to punch your landlord in the face for all the half-assed DIY renos he/she carried out on the house.

I spent 6-7K all in. I'd wager if I'd hired a company to do this whole job it would've run 30-40K... Retaining walls are absurdly expensive.

It's a mixture of varietals meant to thrive in high traffic areas and shade... Forget the exact kinds. Overseeded with shade blend seed too.
A serious pain to build, but I think they tie it all together quite nicely. Seriously though, I never want to do this again.

Pops is a tradesman so the deck build was definitely overspecced. It's a damn nice deck.

Strongly considered just hiring a bunch of under the table day labourers at one point, but evidently I have more time than money.
6-7Kish I think. Only paid for some labour on the front yard because I just wanted to be done. The garden is what I'm happiest with.
