Sarcastic Brit. Need I say more?

Indeed. More variety is good.

The thing to remember is that many didn't like these and others of the time and sheltered or abused kids who like them into fearing being different. I had parents that were fairly open and liked various types and flavours of people. Many people didn't have that kind of environment to grow and be themselves. Proof of such lies in the mid 90s to early 00s rock and emo scenes. Teens and early twenties struggling with identities because of parental suppression and subjugation.

"Hey, do you remember that film Toys? Where the bad guy is trying to make toys into war machines and floats the idea to use kids to do the piloting of those 'toys' via computer games?"
"Yeaa,,?"
"What if we do that for real? We can use ICE as a test platform"
"We'd need to roll it out gently"
"Hm, ok, arcade games on the official .gov site to make it seem like we're being cool and normalise the idea first"

The pattern is the owners are making money. Accumulation of wealth is done by exploitation, profiteering and legal obfuscation to pass the buck if it fails. The companies may die, but the owners escape to buy another

I only ever seem to stumble into expensive hobbies. Learned a bunch of random things though. I am definitely hobbying above my income, but careful management, making do with things and savings is how I can do them.

On that last point, I hate that the world has made that the default expectation. Even if you are really good at something, you don't need to make it a job.

We can just enjoy doing things. It's perfectly fine!

Ah cool, cool. I got my licence (UK Foundation) a while back but rarely do much with it heh. I got it to mess with really and learn a new thing. I currently just use SDR setups to scan and find whatever I can find. Might get out and about again at some point

My general rule is 1 set of clothes for every 3 days, plus 1 spare set and 1 set to travel in. Then add any event type clothes on top and some extra undies and socks. Toiletry bag, mini first aid pack, towels if required. Then it's Phone, charger, power bank, and camera kit
