Is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?
I understand your point, but this is the "all lives matter" response to "antisemitism"; yes, Palestinians are a sematic people, but hatred for Jewish people is called antisemitism, in this instance. ๐คทโโ๏ธ Until a word like "antijewish" is adopted, "antisemitic" has been the correct term for quite a while - even if it makes zero sense, like in this case. ๐ Also, worth pointing out - NOBODY in this clip called ANYONE an antisemite, so the argument is 100% hypothetical in the first place. ๐
"Yeah, I'll bet! +1!" ๐Or, you could just... NOT make assumptions about people based on short-form political theater, maybe? He's probably an asshole, and you may be right... But you just riled up 50 people about a thing you're just GUESSING happened. I've seen 2 or 3 people cry "antisemite!", and 4 or 5 HUNDRED sarcastic comments about it. Again, definitely not "two sides" on this angle, either. This is LITERALLY the point the woman is making, and it went right over your heads. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Yeah, like, what the goddamn fuck, America?? I'm crashing out on this one today. What the fuck even matters, anymore???Law is dead in America.
This is allowed, but touching water at a monument that allows swimming is jail time.
Agreed. I know where it feels like things are heading - and I want any other path.People who are mad that we aren't more angry are extremely foolhardy and shortsighted. Say there's a legitimate movement, including mass violence. Not protests, I'm talking about hundreds dead. Now, imagine step 2... With food blockades, flock, palantiir, no cell/internet, power... If GoP out numbers Dems, why do they need unanimous vote? If they hold a majority of voters, that doesn't make sense. ๐ค Is the majority only by a senator or two? I thought at least 6?Also, I think the person you're commenting to was making the point that they if you have a house majority, the minority isn't "stopping" you from doing anything, the majority did (by having the votes or not). Sort of like: kids don't MAKE their parents buy them ice cream; at best, they convince their parents. ๐ซค

If he's so worried about SUGARY SODAS, he should write a bill about it.Otherwise, he should take one of those sugar sodas and shove it up his ass sideways. Ghoulish motherfucker is LITERALLY trying to steal candy from a baby. Get biblically fucked, guy.
War on Christmas (in July)?
We won't. Because it cannot be done. ๐คI'd absolutely love a full cover album done using modern NIN aesthetics. Nine Inch Noize had me ๐คฏ๐คฏ๐คฏ on "Heresy"!

Even if you don't like Zelensky for legitimate reasons (๐คฃ), this argument is idiotic at even a cursory glance. So Zelensky surrenders, and then Putin... What, sends the EU their money back? ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Make them flee farther. I want to see a "East Ukraine" vassal state waiting for them next time.
Listen, these people were assholes - but essentially, they had a racist march and went home, right? This comment is so low brow, yet so accurate. I hate how much I love it, lol.
My point is that people often think "making more will make me happier" and give away their happiness in pursuit of it.I'm certainly not advocating anyone live on MY income, lol.
I think we're arguing the same point, tbh. I'm in favor of UBI, or at least a livable minimum wage. I'm not saying "happiness is purely a mindset" or some other garbage. My relationship failed due of bad communication, but the major contributing factor was money. We didn't "earn enough" at 70k, 240k, never. To my ex, we could never earn enough to solve our problems. Meanwhile, if she made $1000, she'd spend $2000. That's not an income problem, that's a math problem. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Sode note: I'm not saying that high paying wfh jobs are bad - Not at all. I've made good money, my freelance rate is high, etc.I'm saying that money CAN provide you with SOME of the things you need to be happy. But also, it doesn't guarantee it.Being a SAH parent is a lot of work, takes a lot of spousal communication - my relationship lacked that and failed, yours has that and did not. But, don't fool yourself into thinking the money CAUSED that. You and your partner made good choices. ๐
Sweet! That's awesome, and I'm happy for you. ๐Are you hiring? I find that most people who tell that story are not. ๐ So does the job market. ๐Individually, neither of our stories matter. Statistically, my story is much more common. I'm not saying I'm right and you're wrong, but clearly you understand that making >200k makes you an outlier, and doesn't simply negate an argument 1:1.And, again - I'm happy for you - but I don't think you provide as much contrast here as you think. ๐
Bigger attendance in this random photo than at the "celebration" this year. ๐
10 years ago, my partner and I made 70k (combined) owning a small business. 5 years ago, my partner made 240k as a realtor while I managed our life, kid, etc. 3 years ago we got divorced. This year my ex is making ~$150k and FREAKING OUT about money, while I'm making ~20k for the second year in a row, and I'm handling it WAY better than her. Making good money is often more stressful than the life it affords you. I'd be "happier" at 40k+, but it would cost too much of my life to afford.

I have ADHD, "non-hyperactive". Traditionally, girls present symptoms as quiet indecision vs rambunctious rule-breaking. Coincidentally (๐), there's also a higher incidence in late-life diagnosis (since it was never a "problem") for ADHD (non-h).I'm a cis male. Hetero, no gender dysphoria, nothing. I'm a father, everything has worked at least once, lol. But if you told me I had different chromosomes, or an elevated level of whatever, I'd believe it.The recipe doesn't change who someone is.
Most people do, I think. ๐ I'm a city boy, I got into gardening. Hormones, aging, sex - plants are an excellent "dumb" model of how all that works, fundamentally."Wait. Plant puberty is dumb.""1 in 20 of my plants did something weird, it must be mislabeled. Ope - no, just a weird genetic varietal.""2 genders!" Lol, says who?
...eh. The EPA has been lip service since I've been alive. Don't need to look for an arsonist when the building has been on fire for 50 years. ๐
I was unexpectedly a parent at 27. I discovered my ADHD at 41. I don't know if I could've kept my kid alive at 20. At 40, I'd be too pragmatic to have one, or too old to survive. How any of us pull it off is baffling to me.
