My relationship failed due of bad communication, but the major contributing factor was money. We didn't "earn enough" at 70k, 240k, never. To my ex, we could never earn enough to solve our problems. Meanwhile, if she made $1000, she'd spend $2000. That's not an income problem, that's a math problem. 🤷♂️

10 years ago, my partner and I made 70k (combined) owning a small business. 5 years ago, my partner made 240k as a realtor while I managed our life, kid, etc. 3 years ago we got divorced.This year my ex is making ~$150k and FREAKING OUT about money, while I'm making ~20k for the second year in a row, and I'm handling it WAY better than her. Making good money is often more stressful than the life it affords you. I'd be "happier" at 40k+, but it would cost too much of my life to afford.
