My guess is that if you spent the equivalent of what that cost 74 years ago on a new stove today, you'd be able to afford something much higher quality than the average stove.
I hate Sam Altman as much as the next guy (or maybe more), but the allegations don't seem that credible.. Regardless, a 12-year-old probably shouldn't be regarded as criminally culpable for sexual abuse, right? My impression is that kids that young who do things like that are usually victims themselves. The whole situation seems really bad, with the sister having serious mental health issues, but Altman also doesn't seem to have tried to help her that much.

The vehicles in question are designed to get the astronauts from the pad to a facility that's probably around 3 miles away, with no hills, no potholes, nothing to tow, weather is guaranteed to be good (rockets don't launch in bad weather except the Soyuz, etc). Not to mention the fact that they will almost certainly never be used. It's almost the ideal case for a Cybertruck....
Kroger? I only buy meat when it's on "manager's special" - i. e. the sell-by date is in the next 1-3 days. You can freeze it and it'll be fine for months. Usually I get it for about half of the usual price or even less.

For what it's worth, if a rocket is about to explode, the astronauts are not going to have time to get out of the capsule, slide down to the ground, and get into the MRAP and drive away. They would use the built-in launch escape system, which pulls the capsule off the rocket extremely quickly. These are presumably for some extremely rare circumstance where there is a major pad issue but the rocket is fine, in which case the MRAP is slow but heavily armored, and the Cybertruck is fast but weak.
