Agree with the sentiment but flip the numbers. There are more Democrats willing to do the right thing and a handful of holdouts who tank the votes. If more dem voters would get out and vote instead of taking the pessimistic view that it won't matter anyway, dems would have enough votes to overcome the holdouts.

But not when they were serving and not by themselves, which I imagine was the intended point.
